The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Grenada has announced a major breakthrough in international mobility: Grenada visa-free travel is now extended to two key African nations: Ghana and Benin.
Effective immediately, citizens of Grenada can enjoy visa-free entry into both countries, marking a significant step in strengthening diplomatic and cultural relations between Grenada and the African continent.
This development reflects Grenada’s growing commitment to fostering global partnerships and providing its citizens with greater travel freedom. The Grenada visa-free agreements are expected to boost tourism, trade, and cultural exchange, while deepening the historical and diplomatic bonds shared with Ghana and Benin.
“These visa waiver agreements mark a significant achievement in our ongoing efforts to strengthen relations between Grenada, Ghana, and Benin. By removing this barrier, we are fostering greater opportunities for collaboration, cultural exchange, and economic partnership,” said Roxie Hutchinson, Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Grenada Citizenship Program
Grenada’s Citizenship by Investment (CBI) Program is a government-endorsed initiative that allows eligible investors and their families to obtain second citizenship and a Grenadian passport—without any residency requirements, either before or after applying. The application process is fast, cost-effective, and efficient, typically completed within 6 to 8 months.
One of the key advantages of this program is the Grenada visa-free access it offers. Successful applicants receive lifetime citizenship that is irrevocable, with full rights to dual nationality. This citizenship unlocks Grenada visa-free or visa-on-arrival access to over 145 countries and territories worldwide—including recent additions like Ghana and Benin—enhancing global mobility for business and leisure.
Family inclusivity is another benefit: children, dependent parents, grandparents, and even unmarried siblings can be included in a single application.
Citizenship can be secured by making a qualifying investment in Grenada’s economy through one of the following options:
-
Real Estate Investment: Purchase government-approved property worth at least $350,000, typically in luxury resort developments.
-
National Transformation Fund (NTF) Contribution: Make a non-refundable donation starting from $235,000, which directly supports national infrastructure and economic growth.
To qualify for citizenship and gain a Grenada citizenship by investment, applicants must be over 18 years old, have no criminal record, no visa and citizenship refusals, be in good health, and must provide proof of funds, which must be legal income. They need to pass a strict due diligence process and a detailed background check. In addition, they must contribute a non-refundable contribution4 or purchase real estate worth $350,000 in a government-approved project, along with payment of applicable government fees.
The application process for Grenada’s citizenship program is cost-effective, fast, and straightforward, with no physical residency requirements, and applicants do not have to visit the island nation before or after applying. It is estimated that the process will take between 6 to 8 months from the submission of the application to the issuance of the passport, assuming there are no areas of concern with the application.
The Grenada citizenship program allows investors to have dual citizenship while enjoying the privileges of a Grenada passport together with their original nationality.
