About Dominica

Dominica, officially the Commonwealth of Dominica, is a sovereign island nation located in the eastern Caribbean Sea.

Dominica gained independence in 1978 after being a British colony. It is currently an independent parliamentary democracy, a member of the Commonwealth, and a member of the Caribbean Community (CARICOM).

Known as “The Nature Island” of the Caribbean, Dominica is renowned for its natural beauty, lush mountains, and stunning coastline. It is covered in rainforest and is home to Boiling Lake, the second-largest hot spring in the world.

The capital city, Roseau, is the oldest settlement on the island. It is home to several universities, sporting facilities, parks, and more. Dominica is also popular with cruise ship enthusiasts due to its famous Roseau Harbor.

Economically, Dominica is not solely reliant on tourism and agriculture. It is also a popular destination for financial services, with the growing sector attracting international banks to establish branches in the country as part of their Caribbean operations.

The currency used in Dominica is the Eastern Caribbean dollar (XCD).

According to government officials, Dominica’s citizenship by investment program served as an “economic and financial lifeline” in the aftermath of Hurricane Erika in 2015 and Hurricane Maria in 2017. The program also became the country’s main source of foreign direct investment as of the beginning of 2016.

Dominica offers a number of options to meet the needs of investors seeking its citizenship.
