Who's Not Eligible for Grenada Citizenship

In a circular issued yesterday, the Investment Migration Agency Grenada has announced a list of countries whose nationals are ineligible to apply for Grenada citizenship through their agency effective April 1, 2024.

This list provides details on Who’s Not Eligible for Grenada Citizenship under the updated regulations.

The list includes Iran, North Korea, Russia, Belarus, Sudan, Yemen, and Afghanistan. Nationals from these countries will not be considered for citizenship, with no exceptions.

However, there are provisions for individuals born in Iran, Sudan, Yemen, and Afghanistan, but who have migrated before reaching maturity and have maintained permanent residence or valid visa approval in certain designated countries for at least 10 years. These designated countries include Canada, the United Kingdom, Schengen member states, the United States of America, Australia, New Zealand, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates. Additionally, applicants must have no economic ties to any restricted country.

Enhanced due diligence and on-the-ground investigations may also be required for individuals born in Iran, Sudan, Yemen, and Afghanistan, which could result in higher costs for Grenada citizenship applicants.
