The Government  has released an official memorandum updating the procedures and fees for citizens by investment seeking to add dependents to their St. Kitts & Nevis citizenship. The memo, issued by the Citizenship by Investment Unit (CIU) and the Ministry of National Security, outlines comprehensive changes to the application processes, timelines, and due diligence requirements for spouses and children being added to citizenship files post-approval.

The updated policy clearly distinguishes between applications involving dependents acquired before or after the original citizenship grant. Key distinctions are made for spouses and children based on marriage or birth timelines, with different application tracks handled either by the CIU or the National Security Secretariat depending on the case specifics.

Note: These applications cannot include applicants or spouses whose place of birth is Iraq, Iran and Russia, Belarus, North Korea or Afghanistan.

National Security required documents to apply for citizenship for a dependent:

1. Citizen will have had to have been a citizen for at least three years before being able to apply.
2. Application Form (Minor Registration Form).
3. Two (2) Photographs (1 must be certified by the same person that certifies the application form).
4. Medical Report.
5. Parent’s Citizenship Certificate.
6. Parent’s St. Kitts Passport.
7. Child’s passport.
8. Child’s birth certificate.

St. Kitts and Nevis Citizenship by Investment required documents to apply for citizenship for a dependent:

For the Dependent being added:

1. Official signed correspondence from the main applicant requesting the application be opened to add the dependent.
2. An affidavit of financial support (If dependent is 18+ years of age).
3. Six (6) passport photos (at least one must be certified).
4. Completed C1 application Form.
5. Completed C2 application Form.
6. Completed C3 application Form.
7. HIV Test Results (must be dated within 3 months of the date of submission for all applicants 12+ years of age)
8. Police Certificate(s) (must be dated within 6 months of the date of submission).
9. Certified Birth Certificate.
10. Deed Poll or jurisdictional equivalent (if applicable).
11. Certified National ID(s) (must be valid for up to 6 months after the date of submission).
12. Certified copies of current passport(s) (must be valid for up to 6 months after the date of submission).
13. Certified Marriage Certificate (if the application is for a spouse).
14. Certified divorce certificate (previous marriage if applicable).
15. Proof of Address (should be dated within 6 months of the date of submission).
16. Due diligence fee in the amount of USD$7,500 and application fee of $250 are payable upon submission of application, for the citizen as well as for each dependent that is 15.5 or more years of age.

For the citizens by investment:

1. Completed C1 Application Form
2. Certified copies of current foreign passport(s)
3. 12 months Bank statements (demonstrating their ability to make the government fee contribution on behalf of the addition) (must be dated within 6 months of the date of submission)
4. Proof of Address (must be dated for 6 months within the date of submission)
5. Employment Letter and/or Business License or Incorporation Documents
6. Follow up due diligence fee in the amount of USD$7,500 and application fee of $250 are payable upon submission of application.
